World of Warcraft Dragonflight season three is almost, coming Nov. 14. With it, players are getting a new raid, and a new Mythic+ dungeon pool that’s shaping up to be a balancing nightmare.
On Oct. 24, Wowhead datamined balancing hotfixes for a bunch of Mythic+ dungeons featured in the next season. Unsurprisingly, the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon saw the most changes, with six out of eight bosses getting tuning changes which should make it easier.
The Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon launched with Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5. Blizzard Entertainment intentionally designed this to be more challenging than past megadungeons so that you could tackle it like a raid. Naturally, it also comes with better loot.
Given the fact that this dungeon is enormous, comes with a ton of RP, and is quite demanding even on regular Mythic and Heroic difficulty, I assume Dawn of the Infinite will be the hardest dungeon to complete. Although Blizzard is probably aware of this and that’s why the devs are pushing early nerfs to it, I assume it will take a couple of weeks before it actually becomes timeable.
On top of all this, season three is shaping up to be more demanding than the current season, especially because there will be more item level upgrades and the gearing process will take longer. So, you can’t just rush into +15 or +16 dungeons, expecting you’ll nuke down bosses like it’s nothing. Instead, you’ll have to progress slowly and get good gear.
Remember, Blizzard aggressively buffs and nerfs dungeons and specs at the very beginning of the season, and slows down later as the meta fully develops. This will most likely be the case with Dragonflight season three. Dawn of the Infinite will, however, take a while longer to fully balance out, especially because of its difficulty.
