Hey there, fellow World of Warcraft Hardcore player. Are you tired of disconnecting and losing all your progress? The fine people on Reddit have shared some helpful tips and tricks on how to prevent death during disconnections.
Getting DCed while flying in a Zeppelin or Airship? Not a problem anymore. Try one of these methods that u/xhr0w0w4y was so kind enough to share:
For our alliance players, there is the Light of Elune. This item grants you immunity from all damage for a whopping 10 seconds. So next time you get DCed and appear midair when you log back in, just take a sip before you hit the ground, and you’ll be A-OK.
For the crafty ones who take up engineering, there’s the Parachute Cloack. Just activate this baby after spawning back in mid-air and put on your sunglasses as you fall slowly in style. Olaf’s All Purpose Shield also does the job.
If you reach level 35 without disconnecting, you’ve got the Dreamless Sleep Potion. This baby stops you mid-air as you are about to hit the ground. Just slap this baby onto a macro and laugh all the way to the bank.
Are you a fellow gambler, too? Then gamble your way with a Noggenfogger Elixir. There’s only a chance you’ll get a slow fall, but we’re sure you can beat the house edge.
If you have more money than you can spend, we feel for you, and there is help. For only 1.5g, buy the Limited Invulnerability Potion for a six-second damage immunity. Even better, get the Flask of Petrification for just 32g. What a deal for surviving a fall.
Oh, but what’s that, I hear? You are worried about the game just kicking you out randomly? That’s a problem of the past. Just get an SSD. The next time you get kicked, just use your super speedy storage device to quickly get back into the game before you can say, “Why doesn’t Blizzard have an appeal feature?”
If there’s an ISP outage, get a mobile network Wi-Fi hotspot. Forget using these on trips and outings. If your home network dies, so will your WoW Hardcore character. And we don’t need to tell you that investing in an additional piece of hardware just to save your in-game character is worth it, do we?
Oops, there’s a power outage. Get an oops, literally. An Oops surge protector with a backup battery can give you a few extra minutes to log out in a safe location before the power gets back. Who needs electricity, am I right?
Sure, Blizzard could just implement an appeal system and completely negate all these tips, but we all know that will never happen. The devs would have to hire actual people to do that.
