When does Warzone 3 come out?

Many gamers wonder if there will be a Warzone 3 title and when it’s coming to reshape the franchise once again.

Activision redefined Warzone with Warzone 2.0 alongside Modern Warfare 2, and it could be set to do it again in 2023 with Modern Warfare 3’s changes to the new game. But when is Warzone 3 coming out, and what can we expect from it?

When does Warzone 3 launch?

Warzone 3 has not been officially announced yet, but the current iteration of Warzone got an overhaul after the release of Modern Warfare 3, including a new map and MW3’s movement changes. Now that MW3 has been released, gamers everywhere wonder what will happen with Warzone 3 and when.

The new changes to Warzone, including the map, movement changes, and new weapons arrived in season one of MW3, which officially landed on Dec. 6, 2023.

But beyond that, it’s anyone’s guess what the future of CoD’s battle royale game will contain.

Does Warzone 3 have a release date?

There are no official public plans for Warzone 3 just yet. It appears Activision will likely stick with what started as Warzone 2.0 and update it with new content from new games for the foreseeable future, such as new maps and modes.

If Warzone 3 comes out, Activision will make a big deal out of it at an event that reveals the new game. For now, it’s just called “Warzone” with substantial updates each year.

As such, there is no official release date for Warzone 3 yet. But this article will be updated with current information when plans are annoinced

Is MW3 WarzoneWarzone 3‘?

No, MW3’s Warzone is technically just Warzone. A full-fledged Warzone 3, like the massive Warzone 2.0 update with MW2 in 2022, has yet to be announced.

The biggest addition for MW3 Warzone in season one was the new map, Urzikstan, which was playable in MW3 Zombies since the game launched on Nov. 10 and is now the main BR map.

Urzikstan replaced Al Mazrah as the default Warzone map, much like how Caldera replaced Verdansk in the original game. Other maps include Vondel and Ashika Island, and in 2024, both Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island joined the map pool.
