The news comes amid a lot of speculation around GTA 6, and this is the first time in a while Rockstar has addressed the game.

“We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar’s president Sam Houser said. “We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

Rockstar’s announcement confirmed a Nov. 7 report from Bloomberg, which claimed GTA 6 would be revealed “very soon” and that Rockstar would drop its first trailer in December. This is the same month Rockstar will celebrate its 25th birthday.

The GTA 6 trailer will be the first time fans will see official footage of the long-awaited sequel to GTA 5. Data was stolen from Rockstar in September 2022 and the culprits leaked videos and screenshots of what looked like GTA 6. Rockstar later acknowledged the leaks were “early development footage” for the next GTA game.

The hype for GTA 6 has been immense since the leaks and fans haven’t stopped speculating about the game. A LinkedIn profile of a former Rockstar indicated GTA 6 has been in development since 2015, leading fans to believe the developer is close to finishing.

The first GTA 6 trailer could finally confirm actors working on the game. There’s been a lot of noise around this subject, especially after actor Bryan Zampella recorded a cryptic video with Shawn Fonteno, who gave life to GTA 5’s Franklin.

The trailer will also most likely announce when Rockstar is planning to release GTA 6. Stay tuned if you’re a GTA fan.
