The moon of Pandora is opening up for exploration in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora—but how large is the map?
Ubisoft’s open-world adventure promises a detailed close-up look of James Cameron’s universe and it certainly doesn’t disappoint in that regard. So how big is the world in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and how much of it is explorable? We’ve got the answers.
How big is the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora map?
The full map size in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is 255km², which is split into the three regions of the Clouded Forest, Upper Plains, and Kinglor Forest.
The majority of the map in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is land mass, with only a few areas of water broken down into lakes, rivers, and streams, and the entirety of the map is explorable. In many cases, there’s also a decent amount of height to the map that can be climbed.
Unlike the Assassin’s Creed series, there are no viewpoints to visit on the map, and fog is removed from areas as you explore. However, the three different sections are unlocked via story progression and your journey begins in the Kinglor Forest.
To put the figure to some comparison with other Ubisoft titles, the playable area in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage was 13km², which was dwarfed by the 140km² map size of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla—which boasts the largest map in the series.
We’ve already seen some comparisons between Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and some Far Cry titles, where the largest map in the series is the 88km² of the Island of Yara in Far Cry 6, though that size included the ocean.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora certainly boasts a map size big enough to go toe-to-toe with other Ubisoft titles and the map is actually larger than many other games from the studio.
