To engrave runes in WoW SoD, you must have the rune you want to engrave and the designated piece of equipment. Once you have both, you can engrave the rune by following these steps:

  1. Open your character information sheet (you can do this by pressing ‘C’ on your keyboard).
  2. Select the new rune tab to open your runes
  3. Choose the rune you want
  4. Apply it to its corresponding gear

And that’s it. If you’re unsure whether you engraved the rune, you can check the equipment. If you see the rune’s icon in the right-hand corner of your gear, it has a rune engraved on it. But if there’s nothing, like in the image above, you haven’t engraved anything.

In WoW SoD, Rogues can discover 12 class Runes, each with a unique ability suited to a DPS or Tank Rogue. While most of these runes can be obtained via quests and throughout the starter zone, others require you to complete various tasks, raise your Honor, and even take out multiple mobs.

(Chest)
You’ll take 20 percent less physical damage while Blade Dance is active. You’ll attack an enemy for 130 percent of your weapon damage and cause Bleed, based on a percentage of your attack power, every two seconds for twelve seconds. And this can stack up to three times. You’ll also get one combo point.Alliance:
Darkshore: The rune is located in a pile of dirt by the roots of the Auberdine Lighthouse’s tree (coordinates 32 and 37).

Loch Modan: The rune is located inside the Stonemason’s Toolbox on a platform at the Stonewrought Dam (coordinates 46.4 and 12.7)

2. At Raven Hill Cemetery, find the statue in the middle of the cemetery (coordinates 19.9 and 45.5), kneel before it, and get your rune.
Main Gauche (Gloves)This costs 35 Energy, has an instant cast, and has a 20-second cooldown. You’ll instantly hit your opponent with your off-hand weapon and increase your parry chance by 10 percent for 10 seconds. And you’ll get one combo point.Alliance and Horde:
You can purchase this rune from Grizzly in Ratchet in the Barrens (coordinates 61.8 and 39.4).

But you need to complete Grizzly’s following pre-requests to do so:
1. Shredder Turbochargers
2. Dark Iron Ordinance
3. Fish Oil

You may be able to get most of these items off the Auction House to complete the quests.

One of the hardest things we Rogues will have to manage with these runes are our combo points and how we spend them because they can determine how much extra damage we do or even increase stun duration, which will be crucial during our raids and dungeon dives.

These Rogue runes (and learning what they do in WoW Classic SoD) should help.
