The Game Awards are on again, spearheaded by Kratos actor Christopher Judge, who became a meme last year because of his eight-minute-long speech. Now, he’s even taken a few jabs at Call of Duty, saying, “My speech was actually longer than this year’s Call of Duty campaign.”

He then added that Activision is “another company he’ll never work for.” Not that he needs to, of course, as he’s literally Kratos, one of the biggest roles in gaming history. Still, he’s promised not to make things too long, even though Jeff promised he could “take as long as he wants,” though I certainly hope he doesn’t.

Judge gained notoriety at the 2022 Game Awards after holding an eight-minute-long speech that has become a meme in the past year. The very announcement that Judge would be returning as a presenter at the 2023 Game Awards spawned more memes, and fans were brewing with anticipation for a long journey through Judge’s reflections on gaming. However, Kratos cut it short and kept it under a couple of minutes, though not without taking a few jabs here and there at the big shots of the gaming industry. The TGA staff also tried to hurry Judge up by playing the music preemptively, adding insult to injury of what’s perhaps the most memorable Game Awards speech to date.

Christopher Judge is the recipient of numerous awards for his portrayal of Kratos, the troubled Greek demigod that’s somehow wound up in Nordic lands, surrounded by hostile Aesir preying on him and his adolescent son. He’s got two Game Awards under his belt, both of which are in the Best Performance category for his role as Kratos. His position in the gaming industry is only growing, with many fans believing he should be the primary choice for a potential God of War live-action series or movie.
