A returning Monopoly GO tournament offers new rewards through Capitalist Crunch, featuring Gardening tokens, Dice, Stickers, and special events like High Roller.

Collecting flower tokens for the Gardening Partners event ended on Jan. 13, but the Capitalist Crunch 48-hour tournament has returned with new rewards and milestones. With the Partner event moving on, Stickers have become a priority again for myself and many of my friends, although there are only five packs available within the two-day tournament. Scopely did increase the amount of Dice, and there are two High Roller special events instead of one.

Is playing Monopoly GO Capitalist Crunch worth it?

Unlike the Capitalist Crunch tournament during the Partner event, this 48-hour event focuses on a variety of rewards during the first half and a bunch of Dice during the back half of the milestones. The tokens/points required to hit each milestone, however, have increased. My goal is to hit at least milestone 21 to gather up those four-star Sticker packs. And if you have enough Dice, getting to milestone 24 should provide you a boost to complete the Capitalist Crunch tournament.

How to play Capitalist Crunch

Sticking with the traditional strategy for Monopoly GO tournaments, the objective is to land on a Railroad tile. Landing on a Railroad tile triggers one of two mini-games: Shutdown and Bank Heist. The latter is preferred as you can earn more tokens/points toward unlocking that next milestone. And if you are lucky to get a Mega Heist, you get even more tokens/points for bankrupting your friend.

Bank Heist Capitalist Crunch rewards

  • Small Heist: Eight tokens
  • Large Heist: 12 tokens
  • Bankrupt Heist: 16 tokens
  • Mega Heist: TBD

Shutdown Capitalist Crunch rewards

  • Blocked: Two tokens
  • Shutdown success: Four tokens

When does Capitalist Crunch end?

The Capitalist Crunch tournament will run from 12pm CT on Jan. 13 to Jan. 14 at 12pm CT. Running alongside the tournament is the Equity Extravaganza solo event.

Update Jan. 13, 12pm CT: All rewards and milestones for the Monopoly GO Capitalist Crunch tournament were updated.
