The Anders-Semmler CS:GO casting duo is on hiatus

Could this foreshadow the end of this iconic duo?

One of Counter-Strike’s most iconic duos is taking a professional break—from each other.

Anders Blume and Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat will not be casting professional CS:GO events together for an unknown period of time. Semmler confirmed on a YouTube podcast with theScore that he’s exploring other options, while Anders will continue to cast live events with Jason “Moses” O’Toole. This news follows speculation that the duo would break up, after Semmler mentioned their rocky relationship this year in an interview with Unikrn.

Semmler recently missed DreamHack Masters Malmö this past weekend, and Moses subsequently took his place beside Anders. Instead of attending the DreamHack event in person, Semmler casted many games with analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields and former Fnatic coach Viktor “Vuggo” Jendeby in their own casual casting couch segments on video platform Znipe.

“We’re experimenting different things,” Semmler said on the podcast. “Anders will be casting with Moses and I will be freelance. So to all the [tournament organizers], if any [tournament organizers] are listening to this: I’m on the market. And there has been a divide.”

If the Anders-Semmler duo were to break up indefinitely after almost four years together, it would be a great shock to the Counter-Strike community, as they’ve become the most recognizable CS:GO voices during matches and in frag movies.
