Comcast Spectacor, the owner of the Overwatch League team the Philadelphia Fusion, and SK Telecom announced the joint esports venture in February, where the organization laid out its plans to create teams across the esports spectrum including the battle royale genre and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
With its creation, T1 adopted the branding of SK Telecom’s three-time World Champion League of Legends team, which was renamed to match with the new organization.
T1 has since signed two new “Battle Royale Pros,” players who will stream and compete in titles across the battle royale genre. Likewise, the organization most recently welcomed Haydin “Zerg” Gordon, Kurtis “Kurt” Gallo, and Brendan “BCJ” Jensen to its professional Apex Legends team.
