Fortnite helicopter has now landed near Happy Hamlet

It seems to be moving along the edges of the island.

One of the first mysteries of Fortnite: Battle Royale’s season eight is an unidentified helicopter that seems to be moving around the island. It was first spotted about a week ago near the volcano, but it has since then moved along the borders of the island.

Players have now spotted the helicopter near Happy Hamlet, southwest of the island. It moved there after last landing east of Fatal Fields, and now it might be ready to take a tour through the snow biome.

Some people have been keeping track of the helicopter path on Reddit. Despite players being unaware about what this helicopter is and if it’s related to an event in season eight to some extent, they know after The Cube in seasons five and six and the earthquakes in season seven that it’s worth following these things. They might lead to something new on the island.

The landing pattern and the frequency of the helicopter movement seem to be arbitrary, but players have a few theories about what might be happening. One player said that whenever there’s a helicopter item in the Item Shop, the helicopter moves. That is true with last night, when the Item Shop had a helicopter glider named Airlift on sale.

Another theory about what this helicopter could mean is that a new event might be unlocked once it’s finished flying around the Fortnite island by going back to its first spot.

From now, all we can do is speculate. The helicopter is uninteresting and does nothing to help or disrupt players in their Fortnite matches, so for now, it’s just something to keep track of and see if it leads somewhere.
