It’s time to unbench the Kench.

Riot Games game designer Blake “Squad5” Smith tweeted a list of changes aimed at helping Tahm Kench regain priority on the professional stage. These changes have yet to hit the League of Legends Public Beta Environment but are likely to be added to the test servers in the near future.

For starters, Tongue Lash (Q) will see an increase in duration by 0.5 seconds, while its five second cool down across all levels will now start at a full eight seconds at level one and will decrease to four seconds once maxed out. The ability’s range will see a 50 unit increase in range and its slow percentage will increase significantly at lower levels.

The biggest change, however, is to Tahm Kench’s Devour (W). When the River King devours an allied teammate, he will be slowed by 95 percent—the same as his slow when he devours an enemy. The ability will cost an additional 40 mana at all levels but will be refunded by 50 percent if the devour is cast on an enemy.

Devour’s base minion spit damage will decrease at after level two, and the ability’s damage when cast on enemy champions will see a base damage in addition to a smaller percentage of the target’s max health.

The percent of grey health that is converted into healing on Tahm Kench’s Thick Skin (E) will increase by five percent at all levels. Likewise, the damage converted into grey health will increase by 10 percent at all levels. Thick Skin will no longer cost mana.

Lastly, Tahm Kench’s ultimate, Abyssal Voyage, is in for some changes. The travel distance will be reduced by 2,000 at level one but will increase by the same amount at level three. The ability’s cooldown will increase by 20 seconds at all levels.

These changes are likely to hit the PBE in the near future where they will remain for further testing.
