Of all the new weapons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, none are cooler or stronger than Claws of Night.

These massive dual-wield claw weapons make your enemies Bleed and deal both Physical and Magic damage. They have B scaling in Dexterity and are my go-to weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree. You get them as part of a very interesting quest and I strongly recommend you pick them up.

You get the Claws of Night weapon as a reward during Count Ymir’s quest. You find him in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr in the Scadu Altus region of Shadow of the Erdtree.

This is one of the best and most fun Dexterity weapons added in the DLC, and you can dual-wield it like other claw weapons in Elden Ring to turn yourself into a medieval Wolverine. Its special move, Scattershot Throw, is incredibly strong against enemies who are weak to bleed.

Here’s a map showing the location of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr.

Head inside and begin the quest by talking to Count Ymir. He gives you an item called a Hole-Laden Necklace. Take that necklace to the Finger Ruins of Rhia, pictured below, and interact with a bell in the center of the area surrounded by massive, finger-like rocks.

Once finished, return to Ymir and speak with him to receive another item, Beloved Stardust. You must then take it to the Finger Ruins of Dheo, pictured below in the middle of the peninsula east of Scaduview, and do the same while fighting or avoiding all the creepy enemies in the area.

Once you’ve rung both bells, return to Ymir once more, speak with him, and then fast travel anywhere else before fast traveling back to the Cathedral to find that Ymir is missing. Interact with his throne to move it and find a ladder down into the Finger Ruins of Miyr.

Descend the ladder and head into the new area, where you’ll be invaded by Swordhand of Night Anna, who is the current owner of Claws of Night. Defeat her and the claws are yours.

After that, you can advance to a challenging boss fight with Metyr, Mother of Fingers, or head back to the Roundtable Hold to improve your new weapon at the blacksmith.

Here’s the full list of quest steps:

  • Talk to Count Ymir and receive the Hole-Laden Necklace.
  • Take the Hole-Laden Necklace to ring the bell at Finger Ruins of Rhia.
  • Return to Count Ymir to receive the Ruins Map (2nd) and Beloved Stardust.
  • Take the beloved Stardust to ring the bell at Finger Ruins of Dheo.
  • Return to Ymir to receive the Ruins Map (3rd).
  • Fast travel away from the Cathedral and then return to find Ymir not on his throne.
  • Interact with the throne and descend the ladder to Finger Ruins of Miyr.
  • You’ll be invaded by an NPC named Swordhand of Night Anna.
  • Defeat Swordhand of Night Anna to receive the Claws of Night.
