The new League of Legends game mode, Swarm, can be challenging, and one of the best ways to push yourself to the limit and achieve victory is by obtaining passives. To equip your champion with weapons and passives, unlocking passive slots is essential, and the more slots you have, the stronger your champion is.

Passives in League Swarm are powerful perks you obtain as you play, beat monsters, do quests, and level up your champion. Like weapons, passives come in different shapes and forms and are all unique.

All passives are useful upgrades that offer significant damage increases, extra health, armor, utility, and more, and depending on the champion you’re playing, they’re equally important as weapons. Besides having different passives to perform wombo combos, the best part about them is that you can level them up and make them even better.

Although most passives are unlocked easily, some require a bit of effort. The most common and efficient way to unlock passive slots is to complete challenges, missions, and achievements as you progress through the Swarm. Once you enter the map, your champion starts with four passive slots that you can use to equip different passives, which you get as you level up, beat monsters, and do the Swarm quests.

You unlock the last two remaining passive slots by completing challenges and missions related to Hard and Expert mode. To unlock Hard mode, you must complete several Swarm maps in the Story difficulty. Once you do that, beating all the maps in Hard mode unlocks the last Expert mode, where you can do challenges that unlock the final two passive slots.
