The year of Modern Warfare 3 is winding down to an end, signaling the finale of live content for the game made by Sledgehammer Games.
Soon, Call of Duty players will shift their focus to a new title in the series this fall. But for now, there are still events, maps, weapons, and more to grind and enjoy in MW3 before the seasons change and a new CoD hits everyone’s consoles and PCs.
This means there’s still some time left on the calendar for a potential sixth season in MW3, which means fans of this particular game will have new guns to look forward to as well as other seasonal content.
Here’s everything we know about a potential season six in MW3.
Will there be a season 6 in MW3?
Yes, there will be a season six in MW3. Black Ops 6 will be released on Oct. 25, and there will likely be about a month until season one of the new CoD begins. Until then, players will be able to unlock rewards in season six of MW3.
While season six hasn’t been officially announced yet, the countdown for season five ends in late September, meaning there will be plenty of time for a new season in between the games. This means season six will be the final season of MW3 before live content switches over to BO6 and gamers everywhere lock in on a new CoD.
Once BO6 releases, it’s likely that players will continue to be able to rank up the season six battle pass before BO6 season one begins, likely some time in early December. There will be a lot of time to rank up the pass, so don’t rush, and enjoy the ride.
When does MW3 season 5 end?
The current in-game countdown for MW3’s season five battle pass suggests the season will end on Sept. 18, which means season six will most likely begin on Sept. 18 as well. This could change at any time, but this lines up with season five lasting eight weeks or around two months, which is how long CoD seasons tend to last.
What will be in MW3 season 6?
The contents of season six for MW3 are unclear, but it will likely include new weapons, new maps, Warzone changes, and more. The possibility of new Zombies content seems rather low, with Treyarch hard at work on BO6 Zombies, but it’s possible that minor quality-of-life changes could be added.
It’s also likely that there will be crossover content, although any new store content will likely be restricted to Warzone only since new operators and weapons are coming for BO6 multiplayer.
Stay tuned for more info about season six when it becomes official.
