The makeup event is only for the weekend, and you have precious hours to challenge Mega Rayquaza in Mega Raids. You can also use Remote Raid Passes to work alongside friends in Pokémon Go and complete them before time runs out, as Niantic opened it up to Remote Raid Passes following the disastrous Elite Raid featuring Mega Rayquaza. For those who want to focus on the Timed Research, we have the full details of what you need to do and the rewards you get for completing it.

When the event starts on Aug. 3, you have until Aug. 4 to complete every step. They all relate to the Mega Rayquaza makeup event, which ends on Aug. 3 at 6 pm in your local time zone. While you can still complete steps until Aug. 4, the Mega Rayquaza raids will stop.

Here’s the full breakdown of the steps and rewards for completing the Mega Rayquaza Special Raid Event Timed Research in Pokémon Go.

There’s only one page of tasks and rewards for this Timed Research. Given the short time you have to complete this event in Pokémon Go, this is a relief for many fans looking to evolve their Rayquaza into a Mega Rayquaza. The main reward for completing this Timed Research is the Meteorite, a rare item you can only get through special events or tickets from Niantic. It’s a primary requirement in getting a Mega Rayquaza.

If you can’t complete the Mega Rayquaza Special Event Timed Research tasks before Mega Rayquaza leaves, we recommend focusing on these Mega Rayquaza raids. This is the only way to get Mega Rayquaza Energy, which is also required to evolve Rayqauza. If you miss this chance, you must wait for the next series of Mega Rayquaza raids before trying again.
