Purifying Shadow Pokémon is a simple task in Pokémon Go, but you don’t want to do it for each one you capture. Keeping a Shadow Pokémon’s heart closed is a choice, and it does come with some benefits you’ll want to consider, such as for purifying Shadow Conkeldurr.

Conkeldurr is one of the stronger Fighting-type Pokémon you can use in Pokémon Go. But should you be using the standard version or the shadow one? It’s a difficult question, and there’s a difference in stats you’ll want to consider. The stat differences play a factor, and you want to use the best version to give yourself a distinct advantage when battling against other players.

Is it better to purify Shadow Conkeldurr in Pokémon Go?

Shadow Conkeldurr might not be the best Master League Pokémon you can add to your lineup, but it is stronger than the standard version. We recommend that if you catch a powerful Shadow Timburr, and evolve it into Conkeldurr, it’s better to keep it as a Shadow Pokémon.

As a Fighting-type Pokémon, Conkeldurr already has low defenses. These defenses help keep Conkeldurr up during a fight, but its primary staying power is how much damage it can dish out. As a Shadow Pokémon, it receives a 20-percent increase in its attack power and lowers its defense power by 20 percent. Given how low its defense power already is, that 20-percent boost to its overall attack is impressive and can turn the tide of a fight in your favor in Pokémon Go.

If you use Shadow Conkeldurr on your team against other players, keep it in the Master League. This is where a Pokémon can reach its strongest levels without restraints from the Great or Ultra Leagues. A Shadow Conkeldurr can shine in this category, although it won’t be the strongest Pokémon as multiple Legendary and Mythical choices reign supreme. Still, it’s a reliable choice that can deal some heavy damage.

You’ll get the most use from Shadow Conkeldurr in five-star raids or by taking on any Team Rocket members, such as ArloCliff, and Sierra, or even the boss, Giovanni. Between the two in Pokémon Go, Shadow Conkeldurr is stronger than the standard version, so have at least one of them in your collection with decent stats.
