Pokémon Go and MLB are teaming up for a special one-night collaboration to give trainers special avatar items and rewards.

On Sept. 7, anyone heading to Miami for the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miami Marlins game can purchase a Pokémon Go-themed ticket to get exclusive items while they watch. The items include a team-specific shirt for your avatar and an exclusive Pokémon with a locational card background.

The tickets cost $25 each and are only available for those going to the game, so anyone looking to get the ticket and exclusive Pokémon spawns and avatar items from anywhere else in the world will be sadly disappointed. Details on what Pokémon are haven’t been announced yet, but we know at least what the Avatar times look like.

The shirts have the Miami Marlins logo on the front of the black t-shirt with a Pokemon Go logo underneath. The backs then have the team names Valor, Instinct, and Mystic, with the number 24 underneath.

This is Niantic’s first sports collaboration, and depending on its success, it could pave the way for potentially more collaborations in the sporting world. It feels like such an odd choice, though, as it’s not even a major event like a final, but it could be Niantic’s way of testing the waters ahead of any other big partnerships in the future.

Hopefully, more MLB teams will join this offer in the future, though we would hate to be trainers looking to collect all the exclusive items, considering the costs involved in traveling to each game.
