Dreepy is one of the Galar region’s most popular Pokémon, and thanks to Pokémon Go’s new season of content, it finally makes its debut in the mobile title.

Despite its appearance, trainers may think it was nowhere to be found, as looking at the game shows no sightings of Dreepy. So where is it? And how can you add it to your collection on the road to complete your mobile Pokédex?

How to find and catch Dreepy in Pokémon Go

Dreepy was added to Pokémon Go on Sept. 3 alongside the new season, Max Out, which is all about the Galar region. There are two main ways to find one, but it’s arguably one of the hardest Pokémon to find alongside ‘mon like Frigibax.

You can find Dreepy in the wild, but it is harder than it may seem. It’s a very rare spawn, so if you see the silhouette in the bottom right corner of your screen at any time, no matter where you are, what business meeting you might be in, or what important event you are at, dash to whatever Pokéstop its at and catch it. Because it’s a very rare wild spawn to find.

Alternatively, you can hatch a Dreepy from 10km Eggs from Sept. 3, but the Pokémon is one of the rarest to find in the pool of Pokémon in 10km Eggs, so there’s no guarantee one might hatch.

Can Dreepy be shiny in Pokémon Go?

Dreepy is not available as a Shiny as of Sept. 3, 2024, and we imagine it’ll be over a year until Shiny Dreepy is added to the game.

This is pure speculation, mainly as Powerful Pokémon (or Pseudo-Legendaries) like Dreepy usually appear in-game as a Shiny to advertise a big event, like Go Fest or Go Tour. In Go Fest 2024: Global, Jangmo-o, the Powerful Pokémon of the Alola region, debuted as a shiny a few years after it was initially added to the game.

So, if we had to guess, late 2025, or even 2026, would be when we expect to see Shiny Dreepy finally appear, based on historical Niantic Shiny Pokémon decisions.

How to evolve Dreepy into Drakloak and Dragapult

To evolve Dreepy into Drakload, you need 25 Dreepy Candy. You then need a further 100 Dreepy Candy to evolve Drakload into Drapult. So, 125 Dreepy Candy in total.

Catching and hatching Dreepy nets you a bit of candy, but you can also use any spare Rare Candy you have available in your inventory to help get any extra you might need.
