Dragapult is a Dragon and Ghost-type Pokémon, similar to Giratina in Pokémon Go. When adding it to a team, you’ll want to teach it the fast-moving Dragon Tail and the charged attacks Shadow Ball and Outrage. You’ll always want to go with these strongest choices when you start powering up a Dragapult.

The fast move, Dragon Tail, is always a solid choice for any Dragon-type Pokémon. The other option is Hex, a Ghost-type move, but it falls short of being a good, reliable choice for Dragapult specifically. While Hex can be good on certain Pokémon, it will only hold Dragapult back, who can make much more use out of Dragon Tail. Therefore, it’s best to stick with the Dragon-type move.

Next, we have several charged move options that you can teach Dragapult. These are all the charged moves it can use in Pokémon Go:

  • Dragon Pulse (Dragon-type)
  • Outrage (Dragon-type)
  • Shadow Ball (Ghost-type)

Out of these choices, Outrage and Shadow Ball are your best options for Dragapult. Although Dragon Pulse is a solid choice in most instances, it can’t compare to Outrage. Outrage is a stronger attack that does 110 damage compared to Dragon Pulse’s 90. Plus, they both cost the same amount of energy. There’s no reason to ever go with Dragon Pulse when you have Outrage as an option, and Shadow Ball is another powerful choice that expands Dragapult’s overall moveset.

Is Dragapult good in Pokémon Go?

Dragapult is a solid choice for you to use in Pokémon Go. You’ll get a lot of use out of it in PvE encounters, utilizing it as a reliable Dragon-type Pokémon that can take down five-star raids and Team Rocket members. You can also use it in the Master League, but you might struggle a bit as this category has stronger Dragon-type options. Still, Dragapult is a good Pokémon, and we recommend finding a place for it in your collection.
