Whether you’ve been eagerly awaiting or dreading Incineroar’s appearance as a seven-star Tera raid boss in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it had to happen eventually as these Unrivaled events cycle through every Starter in the game. For this event, the Gen VII Fire Starter will come equipped with the Mightiest Mark and Dark Tera Type to power up its signature move, Darkest Lariat. You’ll, of course, still have to watch out for its Fire-type moves, though.

In your preparation for the raid, train up a strong Pokémon that can hit Incineroar for super-effective damage with either Fighting, Fairy, or Bug-type attacks. At a quick glance, fellow Alola Starter Primarina seems like a great option to counter Incineroar with a huge advantage as a Water/Fairy ‘mon. Just make sure you’re ready to take on the infamous cat before the event ends because it won’t be around forever.

Seven-star Incineroar Tera Raids will pop up around the Paldea region during two event periods.

  • Unrivaled Incineroar raids will make their first appearance starting Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7pm CT and run until Sunday, Sept. 8 at 6:59pm CT.
  • They’ll show up once more the following week from Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7pm CT until Sunday, Sept. 15 at 6:59pm CT.

Like previous Unrivaled Starter events, Incineroar will be accompanied by five-star Blissey raids during the second event period. Blissey raids are great spots to farm items like Exp. Candies and Tera Shards, so take advantage of the opportunity if you’re running low on any of those useful items.
