To support your expansion throughout the Frostland, you must build colonies. These colonies can provide plenty of resources you can move back to your capital city to ensure your people’s survival. Here’s how to transfer resources from a colony in Frostpunk 2.

Once you’ve established a colony in Frostpunk 2, you can manage its resources using the respective colony’s button near the Frostland map icon on the top right side of your screen. To transfer resources, click the colony’s icon and select Resources Transfer.

Use the sliders to adjust how much of the resource’s output goes to the capital city. When transferring resources like Oil, ensure your colony has enough left to operate. I recommend leaving a small surplus in the colony and moving the rest to the city. Alternatively, you can move resources from stockpiles using the 5K buttons on the sides. Click Transfer Resources to confirm the changes.

Here are all the resources you can transfer from and to the colony:

  • Coal
  • Oil
  • Food
  • Materials
  • Goods

Most of the time, colonies don’t have enough deposits to become self-sustainable, so if your colony is struggling to survive, you must move the resources from the capital in the same way.

In addition to resources, you can also move people between colonies and the capital. Use the Send People button in the colony menu and move the slider to allocate more Workforce. If you select too many people, the game warns you’re sending an already employed Workforce, which might cause some Districts to stop operating, so avoid it whenever possible.

Unlike resources that transfer instantly, people need time to travel from the capital city to the colony. Travel time depends on the distance, and you can keep track of the colonists on the world map.
