If you want to obtain as many rewards as possible from Fortnite’s Chapter Five, season four battle pass, you need to tackle all of your weekly quests. One of the trickier weekly quests to work through is damaging opponents with energy weapons.

Once you know what weapons work for this task and how much damage you need to deal in total, it’s easy enough to complete. Here’s how to damage opponents with energy weapons in Fortnite.

To complete the damage opponents with energy weapons quest in Fortnite, you need to deal a total of 1,000 damage against enemies using any type of energy weapon. This quest calls for opponents, which means you can deal this damage against hostile NPCs around the map like Emma Frost, Mysterio, Doombot, and Doom Henchmen or enemy players.

The 1,000 damage doesn’t have to be against the same singular target. Instead, you can slowly accumulate this amount over time across various targets, although you can get it done quite quickly if you’re fighting NPCs. I recommend prioritizing fighting NPCs for this quest since it’s easier to ensure you’re able to get it done quickly, especially if you fight one of the Medallion bosses since they have plenty of shields and health to chip away at using energy weapons.

Dealing damage for this quest takes time but is easy enough to do, while finding an energy weapon can be a bit trickier.

What are energy weapons in Fortnite?

Energy weapons include Stark Industries Energy Rifles, Iron Man’s Combat Kit, and Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets in Fortnite. These are the only tools that work for this quest, so you have to find one of the two to complete it. Although you might expect it to, Iron Man’s Flight Kit doesn’t work for this quest since it only allows you to fly, so you have to pair it with the Combat Kit if you’re trying to deal damage.

If you’re having trouble finding these weapons, it’s worth checking Stark Mobile Armories since there’s a high chance of finding Iron Man’s Combat Kit at these locations or talking with Iron Man to purchase one if it’s still available. You can also visit a POI with a gold name to take down Stark Drones since these contain Stark Industries Energy Rifles. Doctor Doom’s Gauntlets are dropped by defeating Doombot.
