If Riot Games is looking to form another virtual band or group featuring League of Legends champions anytime soon, one mid-lane assassin may have just thrown her hat into the ring.

Polish singer-songwriter Carolin “Wønder” Mrugała recently released an original song called “Born Ready (To Kill),” with League champ Katarina as the star. And if you’re a fan of some of the music from groups like K/DA or Heartsteel, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this smash hit, too.

The song is “written entirely from Katarina’s perspective,” according to Mrugała. “I wanted to imagine what it would be like if Katarina had her own musical skin, similar to K/DA or Pentakill,” Mrugała said. “The result? A bold, electrifying track that captures her ruthless, fearless energy.”

Mrugała, who just so happens to be a Katarina main, also noted that “Born Ready (To Kill)” is naturally filled with references to the Noxian assassin. “You’ll find nods to her voice lines, abilities, and some hidden Easter eggs that every League fan will appreciate,” Mrugała said. “It’s the perfect anthem for anyone who loves playing Katarina or just has a soft spot for Noxian champions.”

Fans in the comment section of the YouTube video seem to be really enjoying the song, too. “I don’t think people realise how INSANE it is for a small artist to drop something like that independently,” one of the top comments on the video reads. “So good it could be official! Riot you better be seeing this,” another YouTube commenter wrote.

Even though I’ve played League for years, I’ve never actually tried out Katarina—usually, I’m the helpless ADC or support attempting to run away from her to no avail. But now, I can picture myself recklessly dashing into the enemy team while blasting “Born Ready (To Kill)” in the background.

Right now is a good time to be a fan of League-themed music. The 2024 World Championship is quickly approaching on Sept. 25, and plenty of rumors are swirling that suggest Linkin Park may perform the 2024 Worlds anthem.
