Call of Duty’s season six for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone went live yesterday with The Haunting festivities, but one of the game’s two new guns was so scary, it had to be nerfed very quickly.
The weapon in question is the DTIR 30-06, a poorly named but overperforming battle rifle, and it’s gotten taken down multiple pegs when it comes to its performance in Warzone. Its stats in MW3 were not specified.
In CoD, battle rifles tend to perform just like auto rifles that deal higher damage. In the case of the DTIR, it was so high that Raven Software had no choice but to nerf it in Warzone a little more than 28 hours after it was first made available in the game.
The DTIR has had its max damage nerfed from 48 to 45, its near-mid damage dropped from 45 to 38, mid damage lowered from 41 to 36, minimum damage nerfed from 36 to 35, and headshot modifier decreased from 1.5x to 1.35x. All of these stats are from Warzone.
Season six’s other new weapon, the Kastov LSW LMG, is not nearly as powerful and hasn’t been touched. The new gun works best when fired in Tac Stance, which makes it stand apart from other guns like in the game.
Elsewhere in the quick update today, the RAAL MG’s JAK Protean Conversion Kit also got nerfed. The powerful LMG’s headshot modifier was nerfed from 3x to 1.67x, neck modifier from 2x to 1.5x, upper and lower torso modifiers from 2x to 1.5x, and arm modifier from 2x to 1.2x.
The addition of new Warzone content will slow down for over two months now as Black Ops 6’s weapons and movement won’t be integrated into the battle royale game until BO6’s season one, which will likely take place sometime in early December.
