This isn’t a free event, however: You must purchase the Premium Timed Event ticket from the Pokémon Go store to participate and earn all rewards. The ticket allows you to get Oranguru and Passiman encounters, with a chance for them to appear in their Shiny versions.

Beyond the Premium Research Ticket encounters, these two won’t appear, but other Pokémon will be showing up throughout the event. Here’s what you need to know about all the tasks and rewards you can get during Pokémon Go‘s Research Day for Oranguru and Passiman.

The Oranguru and Passiman Premium Timed Research Day event will happen on Sept. 22 from 2pm to 5pm in your local area. You’ll need to purchase the ticket from the Pokémon Go store using real money to participate.

For those who don’t grab the ticket, there are still incentives to hop into the game. As you wander around your local area, there are increased spawns for Aipom, Chimchar, Grookey, Mankey, and Slakoth. All of the mentioned Pokémon have a chance to appear in their Shiny version, except for Grookey who has yet to receive one.

This is a Timed Research event, which means all tasks for the Oranguru and Passiman Premium ticket must be completed by 5pm on Sept. 22. If not, the ticket will disappear, and you will miss out on the rewards. Your primary goal for these tickets is to complete Field Research tasks, which means spinning Poké Stops and Gym dials to get more, so long as you have not already received a Field Research task from them that day.
