After surging to popularity with her single “Good Luck Babe,” Roan has become the subject of intense public scrutiny. Whether it’s canceling shows in Amsterdam and Paris, denouncing stalking, or voicing her political beliefs, fans online devour and dissect anything she says. In a recent interview, Roan shared her thoughts about political endorsements in the 2024 election. “There are so many things that I would want to change. So I don’t feel pressured to endorse someone,” she said. “There’s problems on both sides.” As a member of the LGBTQ+ community with a large queer fanbase, many hoped the singer would endorse the Democratic nominee for president, Kamala Harris.

Her lack of an endorsement caused some on social media to question her political beliefs. This questioning led to the singer posting multiple TikToks clarifying that she is not voting for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, in the 2024 election.

After her TikToks were shared on X (formerly Twitter), Hasan decided to defend the singer’s political opinions. Hasan expressed his belief that “extracting concessions” from elected officials is how a democracy should function.

Hasan believes that constituents should question their political representatives and hold them accountable to better enact political change. This aligns with the recent statements Roan made, where she clarified she will “always question those in power” and “stand up for what’s right and what I believe in.”

Following Hasan’s post on X, many of his subscribers are defending Roan and her political beliefs. “It’s almost like they’re supposed to work for us,” one user posted, poking fun at the people who originally misconstrued Roan’s statements.

As always, Hasan can be found streaming live most days on his Twitch channel where he covers the latest political news.
