SuperJJ and Viper take Team Germany Hearthstone Global Games spots

The team lineup is once again complete.

The controversy over the Hearthstone Global Games selection process has finally been brought to an end, with the German lineup once again complete. Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen and Torben “Viper” Wahl have been added to Team Germany for the Global Games, replacing Mats “P4wnyhof” Karthage and Thomas “Sintolol” Zimmer, who were removed from the team on Thursday. The inclusion of streamer P4wnyhof in the voting caused controversy right from the off, with other participants like Sebastian “Forsen” Fors and SuperJJ saying they would pull out if P4wnyhof was allowed to compete. When the initials results were announced, Forsen followed through on his promise and is no longer part of Team Sweden. P4wnyhof’s inclusion provoked a reaction due to his negative reputation within the community. He attracted negative attention in 2014 when he skewed tournament results to benefit his team, and he has also been accused of viewbotting his stream. Sintolol and P4wnyhof have traded jabs back and forth since voting began, but the tensions boiled over into comments Blizzard deemed unacceptable. Viper takes Sintolol’s spot as the top HCT points earner from Germany, having been tied with Sintolol on 32 points. SuperJJ was presumably the next player in the voting numbers, though official tallies have not been released. At any rate SuperJJ has a significantly better competitive pedigree than P4wnyhof, and the lack of animosity between the team members makes Germany a strong contender for the tournament.
