Since the removal of Jetpacks, Damage Traps have been one of the most highly-discussed items in Fortnite: Battle Royale recently. And a new bug involving this item has left the Fortnite community extremely frustrated.

Epic Games has made several tweaks to Damage Traps over the past few weeks. After reducing the trap’s damage from 125 to 75, Epic eventually decided to raise it to 150 in update 4.3.

Not only are Damage Traps more powerful now, but they’re also dealing this increased damage in unintended ways due to an in-game bug. As seen in a video posted on Reddit, the bug causes these traps to deal damage to enemies above where the item is placed. The video shows someone activating the trap as intended, but three other players take damage on the floor above, despite the item not being angled to shoot out its spikes in that direction.

Epic has heard about this bug, though, and the developer plans to fix it soon, according to Epic employee “darkveil” on Reddit.

“This will be fixed in the next major patch,” darkveil said. “Thanks to those who reported it.”

Although Epic didn’t reveal when the “next major patch” will be, most Fortnite players and fans will be happy to know that the developer is aware of this Damage Trap glitch and addressing the issue.
