A new item will arrive in Fortnite: Battle Royale soon, and it looks to be different than anything that’s come before it.

The Stink Bomb, a new type of grenade, will be the next item featured in Fortnite: Battle Royale, with an in-game message confirming that it’ll be coming soon. Earlier in the month, the Stink Bomb and another item, Ceiling Drop Trap, were found in a datamine, so many fans were anxiously expecting some kind of confirmation.

With the Stink Bomb’s addition, there will be seven grenades in the game. Of those seven, three are considered utility grenades because they don’t cause damage to players. The other four—Grenade, Clinger, Remote Explosives, and now the Stink Bomb—have the ability to harm enemies.

The Stink Bomb seems like it will be different than the other damage-inducing grenades, though. Unlike the explosive ones, this grenade will initially explode into a poisonous cloud and subsequently “slowly damage anyone inside,” according to Epic’s in-game description.

It’s unknown how long the cloud will be able to damage players or what the damage stats will be, but it would definitely seem as if this item could add a new element to the game. With highly-talented players constantly finding new ways to use items, the Stink Bomb will likely be no exception.

The Stink Bomb has been confirmed and is on its way, but will the Ceiling Drop Trap follow soon? With the recent buff to the Damage Trap and addition of the Bouncer Trap, one would think it’s only a matter of time before we see it pop up in Fortnite: Battle Royale.
