The game will be free to play and come this fall, but it can be preordered tonight on the App Store and Google Play Store. You can register for early access on PlayBlades.com.

The new title has several modes to play, like Abyss, which is a rogue-like experience. Arena is where you can do battle one-vs-one against other players. But the main mode is The Town, which is your hub for stories and quests.

You play as a member of the Blades, an exile who returns to your town to find it in trouble. The game will have its own story and Howard described it as a “massive” RPG with console quality graphics.

There are several ways to play the game on mobile, like tapping the screen to move. It can also be played using a digital analog stick on the left side of the screen. Combat is intuitive as well, with several ways to use weapons like swords. The entire game can also be played in portrait mode with one hand.

Blades will also eventually come to PC and consoles, but it looks like it’s made for mobile phones. It definitely seems like it will be a glorious time-waster on trains or in between meetings when it comes out later in 2018.
