After a remarkable relegation tournament, fans were delighted with a surprising announcement. Back by popular demand, the Halo World Championship will make its return in 2017. Here are the major points made in their announcement trailer:

343 also released even more information on the LAN events and the online qualifiers scheduled for each region the HWC will support on their website.
North America
There will be two qualifying LAN events this season, The Halo World Championship 2017 Qualifier in St. Louis by UGC, which will take place from Jan. 20-22, and the Halo World Championship 2017 Qualifier in Las Vegas by Millennial Esports, which will be from March 3-5.
There will be five online qualifiers spaced out between these two events with one on Jan. 28, Feb. 4, Feb. 11, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. There will also be one before the UGC event taking place on Jan. 14.
Europe
Europe will have only one event this season: the Halo World Championship 2017 Qualifier in London by Gfinity from Feb. 17-19. Prior to this, there will be three online qualifiers and an online seeding tournament, with the seeding tournament taking place Jan. 21, the online qualifiers taking place on Jan. 22, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12. There will also be a last chance qualifier taking place after Gfinity on Feb. 26.
Latin American/South America
For Latin and South America, there will also only be one event scheduled, as well as three online qualifiers and an online seeding tournament. The event will be the Halo World Championship 2017 Qualifier in Mexico City by Gfinity, taking place from Feb. 24-26. The seeding tournament will take place on Jan. 28 and the online qualifiers are scheduled to take place on Jan. 29, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12.
Australia/New Zealand
Australia/New Zealand unfortunately will not have any LAN events scheduled as of now. They will, however, have a wide array of online tournaments, with an online seeding tournament taking place Jan. 21, online qualifiers on Jan. 22, Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12, a last chance qualifier on Feb. 19 and an online regional qualifier on Feb. 26.
Although the location of the HWC Finals has yet to be announced, the breakdown of who can qualify has. The group will feature the top seven teams in North America, top three from Europe and the best team from Latin/South American and Australia/New Zealand.
