Today it was announced that fastfood company Arby’s, restaurant company Buffalo Wild Wingsand financial management platform Credit Karma are now sponsors forthe Turner Broadcasting and WMGeLeague.
“eSports is built on passion and loyalty from fans andathletes, and we look forward to supporting that through oursponsorship of eLeague,” chief marketing officer and brandpresident of Arby’s Rob Lynch said.
Buffalo Wild Wings has many customers who eat and watch livesports events. This announcement comes amidst their stocks tradingaround its year-low, so this is a potential way to attract aneSports audience to the bar to view tournaments live.
“We’re always exploring emerging platforms to engagewith passionate sports fans,” Vice President of North AmericaMarketing at Buffalo Wild Wings Bob Ruhland said.
Turner Broadcasting has guaranteed these sponsors exclusivity intheir respective fields. There are eight sponsor spots, three ofwhich are now filled. Turner expects to have the eight spots filledby the end of the inaugural eLeague season on July 30.
The eLeague launches May 24 on digital platforms and May 27 onTBS.
