After almost three years, Teemo has found its first LCK game win thanks to Griffin.

As a champion with a funny history in the LCK, Teemo saw a string of picks in 2016—but not on purpose. First, CJ Entus accidentally picked Teemo against Longzhu Gaming in the 2016 LCK Summer Split. Then on the following day, KT Rolster, in an attempt to poke fun at CJ Entus by hovering the Swift Scout, accidentally locked in Teemo, too.

Both CJ Entus and KT were unable to call for a remake and were forced to play—and later lose—with Teemo.

Now, two years later, Griffin brought back the Teemo in their match against MVP earlier today. But unlike CJ Entus and KT, Griffin picked Teemo purposely.

“Teemo is a pick that we have had prepared for, and there was an opening to pick it so I locked in Teemo,” Griffin AD carry Park “Viper” Do-hyeon explained when asked about the Teemo pick, as translated by Korizon. “The opponent ADC should not be an ADC with a high sustain in lane, in which case you can annoy the opponent with the blind.”

And like Viper said, the Teemo became a bot lane bully. MVP’s duo were quickly pushed into their inner turret, where they were then subjected to a dive initiated by Griffin jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong. The dive was successful, and Griffin found two kills from the play—although both kills went to Tarzan’s Sejuani.

Aside from that bot lane dive, Viper’s shocking Teemo pick was outshined by his mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s Yasuo. Chovy destroyed his mid lane opposition as Yasuo, then proceeded to crush teamfights while Viper’s Teemo played a supporting role with his blind and mushrooms.

Although the champion won today, don’t expect Teemo to become a staple LCK pick. Teemo is still a very situational champion that needs a lot of setup to have its abilities be used to the fullest extent.

But analytics aside, now there’s only one thing left to say—congratulations, Teemo, on your first LCK win.
