Media company Turner—a unit of Time Warner—in partnership with talent agencies WME | IMG announced the esports league on Sept. 23. It is set to start in summer 2016, with competition airing live on TBS on Friday nights for 10 weeks, twice a year.

The league—named ELEAGUE—will run over multiple seasons, featuring a regular season, playoffs and a championship. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be the featured game next year—although this is subject to change in future years.

Players will be competing for a prize pool of $1.2 million.

All of the live competitions will take place at Turner Studios in Atlanta, which was specifically designed to showcase esports.

In the announcement Turner states that the show will be “staged, produced and promoted in a manner reflective of other major traditional American sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball.”

Now that the league has a name and a logo, hopefully the official air-date is not far off.

The Game Awards highlights some of the top video games, esports games and esports players in the world.
