Veteran marksman Pawel “Woolite” Pruski is returning to competitive play by filling the role of a player who replaced him.
The Polish AD carry has joined European Challenger side Denial Esports, filling the spot left by Rasmus “MrRalleZ” Skinneholm, who replaced Pruski at Team ROCCAT on June 16.
Denial team captain Mike “Wickd” Petersen said the team was lucky to find a player of Pruski’s quality so quickly.
“I loved playing with Rallez [Skinneholm] and it was very sad news for everyone in the team when we got the news that he wanted to join ROCCAT,” Petersen continued. “However Rallez is still a great friend of the team and we wish him the best. After the departure of Rallez we only had a couple of days to find a replacement for a player that is great both in and out of the game. We tried out a couple of players and the day Woolite [Pruski] tried out we instantly knew he was the one to fill Rallez’s shoes. The way Woolite communicates and play was the last piece to our puzzle.”
Head coach Nick Scali added: “When initially losing Rasmus, we knew it was going to be tough finding a replacement, however, we were very fortunate Paweł became available. I’m excited going forward with him as our ADC, and believe this puts us in a great position to begin the Challenger Series.”
After negotiations in the offseason to acquire Skinneholm, ROCCAT finalized the deal on June 16, leaving Pruski without a team. But at the time, he made it very clear he had no intention to retire.
This won’t be Pruski’s first outing with the Denial organization, either. He was a former member of its early 2014 Spring European Challenger squad before being called up by League Championship Series team Copenhagen Wolves to take over for Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou in May 2014. After a short stint over the summer, Pruski and Hafner left to join Team ROCCAT for the 2015 season.
The new Denial team is formed off the backbone of the Ranked 5’s squad Team Gravy. After leaving Elements, Petersen went on to form the team in hopes to qualify for the Summer Challenger Series. The team was acquired by Denial on May 29. Its first match, versus Dignitas.EU, and on June 23
