The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have been lacking a competitive fighter title since the two launched back in 2013. Now Capcom is gearing up to remedy that problem, for PlayStation fans at the very least.
Everyone assumed that Street Fighter V would be the first game to make its debut on the current generation of consoles. But that’s all the way out in 2016, in the meantime PS4 owners can play the definitive Ultra Street Fighter 4 when it comes out next week on May 26.
It also seems that Capcom is really wanting to promote the esports scene with this release. In the trailer above, the company was more than willing to promote the Capcom Pro Tour, an upcoming tournament with $500,000 on the line.
You won’t find it in stores, as the game will be a digital-only release. As to why the game will not be coming out on Xbox One, we’re not entirely sure. This version will include all previously available DLC and costume packs. And yes, you will be able to use your PS3 fight sticks. Just like all current-gen remakes, it will run in 1080p at 60fps.
Since this is the fourth iteration of Street Fighter 4, the PS4 Ultra version will only set you back $24.99.
