Gambit Gaming is being forced to make a change to its mid-lane as current starter Sebastian “niQ” Robak has stepped down due to undisclosed health problems, sources close to the organisation have told the Daily Dot. Gambit is already looking for possible replacements, with current Meet Your Makers mid-laner Marcin “Kori” Wolski emerging as the favorite.

Indications that something was afoot were brought to the attention of the League of Legends subreddit when an eagle-eyed fan noticed he’d changed his Twitter name from “MYMKori” to “freekori.” The relationship between Wolski and Meet Your Makers has likely become untenable after revelations that a member of the management threatened to take Wolski’s mother’s house after he tried to leave the team in the preseason.

The player is still under contract, however, so the move is not a foregone conclusion and will be subject to an agreement being reached between the two organizations. With Robak’s needs becoming more pressing, the organization has also looked into bringing in Swedish mid-laner Felix “betsy” Edling as a temporary solution if the Wolski deal can’t be done quickly. However, following the negative publicity about its handling of the player, the organization is unlikely to stand in his way and make his leaving difficult, sources close to Meet Your Makers told the Daily Dot.

Wolski has also been linked with moves to newly promoted H2K following a slow start to life in the LCS by their current Korean mid-laner Ryu “Ryu” Sang-wook. However, a spokesperson for H2K told the Daily Dot that there was “no truth” to the rumors and described them as pure speculation.
