It's Epic's way of saying thanks for patience during server issues.

Free loot. Yes, you read that right. Free loot. Loot that is free. Is there anything better than free loot?

Epic Games doesn’t think so, and it’s offering a free back bling in Fortnite: Battle Royale as a way of saying “thank you” for patience during a 15-hour server outage earlier this week.

The “Rust Bucket” back bling is available for free to everyone right now, but only through this weekend. Just navigate to the in-game store and find it listed for the amazing, beautiful price of 0 V-Bucks. It may not be the prettiest back bling you’ve ever seen, but it’s free.

The server outage was due to a “critical failure” that left Epic Games working around the clock and overnight on Wednesday trying to fix the issue. The total outage lasted from Wednesday night until Thursday afternoon.

Fortnite’s 3.5 update released on Wednesday morning, and it brought with it the new Port-a-Fort item, in-game replays, a nerf to the Guided Missile, and changes to the equip times of some weapons.
