It’s all about the multiplayer experience when it comes to the franchise shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty. The demand for the single-player modes in these games has declined over the years and there have been instances where the single-player content was removed so the developers could focus more on a better multiplayer experience. Considering Battlefield 2042 won’t have a single-player mode, all eyes will be on the multiplayer content.
With new and returning game modes and breathtaking maps, Battlefield 2042 is getting ready to come back with a bang after a three-year break. With the multiplayer mode as the main focus of the game, players have been wondering whether a crossplay feature will be in the equation for Battlefield 2042.
While the latest Battlefield titles do just fine when it comes to matchmaking times, indicating that there’s enough of a player base on all platforms, crossplay is simply more than that. In the age of modern PC gaming, players can pick different gaming devices. But at the end of the day, everyone will want to game with their favorite friends.
Will Battlefield 2042 have crossplay?
In a recent dev post by EA’s Straatford, it was confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will have cross-play support between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Players will have the option to opt-out of crossplay, too.
Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users will have access to cross-play as well. In the post, it was also confirmed that the game will support cross-progression and cross-commerce.
Battlefield 2042 is set to be released on Oct. 22.
