Best legends to pair with Seer, the Ambush Artist in Apex Legends

Seer is one of Apex Legends’ most unique characters. Once considered a cursed child, this icon of the shunned brings good fortunes and even better abilities to help your squad pick up plenty of wins wherever you decide to take him. He faces battle as he faces everything: with a flourish of style and grace.

Apex is ultimately a team game, so even though Seer has a ton of useful talents, he’ll need the help of his friends to become a champion.

His wallhack-style abilities are useful to just about every other legend, especially those who lack enemy-identifying abilities of their own, but there are a few who pair markedly well with him. These legends must be able to strike shock and awe into the hearts of the opponents who stand in the ambush artist’s way.

Here are the best legend pairs for Seer in Apex.

Valkyrie and Seer was one of the most popular combinations in this year’s iteration of the ALGS professional circuit, and it’s not hard to see why. Even though they’re both recon legends, both characters pair well with just about anyone on the game’s roster. Valkyrie grants Seer mobility through her Skyward Dive ultimate, and Seer can help check areas that Valkyrie wants to fly up to with her VTOL Jets, which could potentially avoid a bad situation.

Furia player Jacob “HisWattson” McMillin demonstrated some all-new ways to play Seer during the most recent ALGS iteration. His near-constant use of Seer’s Heart Seeker passive to pinpoint enemy locations allowed his Valkyrie and Horizon teammates to get the drop on opposing squads with their superior mobility.

Seer’s Focus of Attention tactical can also be used to interrupt enemy healing, which was also an important factor in Furia’s incredible performance. As a result, Seer’s pick rate shot up among the player base, showcasing the importance of pros demonstrating new techniques and combinations.

Bangalore

Bangalore has always been a classic Seer pair because of the excellent synergy of their tacticals. Bangalore’s tactical, Smoke Launcher, obscures an area to all allies and enemies, including Bangalore herself. The only legends who can see through the smoke are those who have a wallhack ability or a digital threat scope, which makes Seer a natural pair with Bangalore in duos and trios.

After Bangalore deploys Smoke Launcher toward an enemy squad, Seer can immediately launch a Focus of Attention into the smoked area, potentially revealing enemies in the process. If he hangs back a little bit, he can also use Heart Seeker to approximate enemies’ locations within the smoke.

Unlike Bloodhound, who can only use their wallhack abilities when their tactical is off cooldown, Seer can constantly scan with Heart Seeker, which gives him a notable advantage when paired with Bangalore.

This all assumes Seer is actively communicating this information to Bangalore and any other teammates—Seer is all about information, and the success of his team depends on whether and when he shares that information.

Caustic

Caustic and Seer work well together for the same reason Bangalore and Seer do. All of Caustic’s abilities revolve around his Nox gas, which obscures enemies’ vision, damages them, and slows them. Unlike Bangalore’s smoke, Caustic can see through his own smoke, though his allies can’t do the same.

If you’re looking to play more defensively, Caustic and Seer can be used very effectively together. Like with all defense legends, you’ll need to choose a place to defend, then set up Caustic’s Nox gas traps in as many places as you can. Once an enemy gets close or pops one, Seer can use Focus of Attention and Heart Seeker to once again pinpoint enemies’ locations for everyone in the squad, not just Caustic.

Because Nox gas traps damage opposing squads in addition to decreasing vision, any enemies Seer is able to pinpoint can be easily taken out by the rest of his squad.

Wraith

Wraith is a less obvious choice as a Seer pair, but the two of them make sense once you think about it. Wraith is an offensive legend who brings a lot of mobility to her teammates: her Dimensional Rift ultimate allows allies to quickly move to another location via the void, even if they’ve been knocked down.

This is important when it comes to Seer, whose weak point is lack of mobility.

Wraith can help Seer move to better locations if he gets downed or if he needs to back up and heal. While there are several other legends who can do this with their abilities, including Octane with his Jump Pad and Pathfinder with his Grappling Hook, Wraith is less likely to outpace Seer while going into a fight. Octane and Pathfinder both have abilities that make it easier for them to go in at less risk to themselves thanks to their speed and positioning, respectively.

Wraith’s Into the Void tactical is generally reserved for more defensive situations, making it unlikely that she’ll use it to race ahead of Octane in the middle of a match.

Seer needs someone who can slow down and keep his pace, and Wraith does so while also giving him some of the mobility he desperately lacks.
