League of Legends boasts unique champions and constantly dishes up incredible gameplay moments. However, there’s another thing Riot Games’ flagship title has become known for across the gaming world: its enormous catalog of beautifully crafted character skins from Riot’s talented artists and animators.
How many skins are there in LoL?
As of December 2023, there are 1,622 skins in League of Legends. That eye-watering number will only continue to go up too as the Riot design team releases more character variants across the rest of this season and into the distant future. 1,110 are currently available to buy or unlock while 358 are vaulted, 103 are periodically available, and another 51 are simply no longer live.
On average, Riot debuts as many as a dozen new skins each month across two League patches that bring various Legendary skins and, on the odd occasion, even rare Ultimates editions.
Each skin falls into one of four price points, from basic cosmetics costing the least to more in-depth, detailed skins with new voice lines and animations.
The full price list is as follows:
- Regular skins: 975 RP or less
- Epic skins: 1,350 RP
- Legendary skins: 1,820 RP
- Ultimate skins: 3,250 RP
Many of these skins are no longer purchasable in the store client because they were either a limited-time event skin or a ranked reward. Some are only attainable with gemstones, while others are only available seasonally. Even still, there are hundreds of other skins that will catch your eye while you peruse League’s many outfits and styles.
How many skin sets are there in League?
As of today, there are 192 different skin sets in League. With more than 1,600 skins across nearly 170 champions, it’s not surprising that the League of Legends developers started bundling together certain skins at some point too.
These different skin lines range from Star Guardians, Bewitching, PsyOps, and Pool Party to Lunar Beast, Crime City, Battle Academia, and plenty more.
The most recent one to land in the League store was Winterblessed
The more famous lines include the Worlds variants (there has been one every year since 2011) as well as musical editions like True Damage and K/DA. Players can unlock rare Victorious variants by finishing gold or above in competitive seasons, while gemstones can earn those that grind out League challenges cool Hextech skins.
Prestige skins in LoL
Every champion can have a Prestige skin, which can be crafted with Mythic Essence. Prestige skins are exclusive iterations of certain skins that are usually far more attractive and stunning. Champions to have already received a Prestige skin include Riven, Senna, Kayn, Diana, and Akali. There are 75 Prestige skins all up, with Prestige Immortal Journey Sona the latest one to be released, as of publication.
Chroma skins in LoL
Chroma skins are simply already existing skins, just in other colors. Introducing Chromas was a simple way for Riot to increase player creativity and options. There are just over 300 champion skins that can be changed into Chroma variants. That means there are approximately 3,000 Chromas across the full League roster.
