A mainstay of World War II combat, the MP-40 is dominant in Call of Duty: Vanguard and it’s been wreaking havoc in Warzone ever since the game’s Pacific update, too.

Just like in Vanguard, the MP-40 is one of the better options for submachine guns in Warzone, especially on Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep. It’s absolutely worth leveling up to unlock its long list of attachments that turn it into a true monster.

While Warzone’s Caldera is currently best suited for long-range guns like the Cooper Carbine or STG-44, the MP-40 should find its way into loadouts in the game due to its mobility and strength as a close-quarters combat option. It’s a must-have for Resurgence and other respawn modes.

In Warzone’s final weeks, the MP-40 is still one of the most-picked weapons in loadouts across the world. It’s currently the third-most used weapon on Caldera and Fortune’s Keep, and the fourth-most picked on Rebirth Island, according to WZRanked.

Here’s the best set of attachments for the MP-40 in Warzone.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Krausnick 317mm 04B
  • Optic: Krausnick ISO2M
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk: Unmarked
  • Perk 2: Quick

The MP-40 can hold its own against any other SMG up close in Rebirth Resurgence or battle royale, so it’s worth sticking it in one of your Overkill classes. You’ll want to pair it up with a long-range AR or sniper rifle for engagements past CQC-range, though.

This set of attachments will buff the MP-40’s statistics for accuracy, range, fire rate, and mobility, while barely making a negative dent in the gun’s abilities in other areas. When traversing through Caldera’s buildings or trying to move through its open areas quickly, the MP-40 is a safe bet.

The underbarrel and optic in this build are swappable depending on your preference, but we suggest the Hand Stop for its ability to control recoil and the ISO2M sight for its clearer overall picture while aiming down sights.

Best MP-40 loadout in Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: VDD 189mm Short
  • Optic: Krausnick ISO2M
  • Stock: Krausnick 33M Folding
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags
  • Ammunition: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Perk: Brace
  • Perk 2: Quick

This alternate build works best for Rebirth Island where you will be running and gunning with a swiftness that does not apply to Caldera. These attachments will buff the MP-40’s fire rate which is crucial for up-close engagements. It’s also very strong on Fortune’s Keep for the same reasons.
