Destiny 2‘s Dawning event is bringing a lot of delights and a little bit of violence as part of the game’s holiday celebrations. The Dawning is Destiny 2‘s holiday-themed event, and it focuses on spreading Dawning Spirit around by baking cookies for NPCs. And also by killing enemies.
During the Dawning, players can obtain ingredients from different sources, including enemy types, which weapon you used to kill an enemy, and even the damage type that dealt the final blow. Guardians can then use these ingredients to bake recipes for NPCs of their choosing, which all have their own favorite delicacies.
Null Taste, for instance, is used on two recipes for NPCs in the Tower. Here’s how you can find and farm this resource during Destiny 2‘s Dawning celebrations.
Where to find Null Taste in Destiny 2‘s Dawning
Null Taste has a chance of dropping when you kill enemies with Void damage, whether you’re using weapons or abilities. This means you don’t need to worry about much when farming Null Taste, and odds are you’ll stock up on this ingredient just by playing normally provided you’re using Void weapons and abilities.
If you want to farm Null Taste, though, you’re better off going to areas with high enemy density. While the Shuro Chi checkpoint or the Shattered Throne’s Thrallway are classic choices, players can find Null Taste in bulk in any area that has multiple enemies. This includes the beginning of the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, Altars of Sorrow, the introduction to Spire of the Watcher, and even Lost Sectors.
All Dawning recipes using Null Taste in Destiny 2
Null Taste comes in handy if you want to bake treats for Amanda Holliday or the Drifter.
- Chocolate Ship Cookies (Amanda Holliday): Cabal Oil, Null Taste.
- Dark Chocolate Motes (The Drifter): Taken Butter, Null Taste.
If you’re looking to thank Amanda Holliday for the Twitch Prime items and bounties, you’ll need some Cabal Oil, available from killing Cabal anywhere in the system. Go for areas with plenty of Cabal enemies, which you can find in Nessus and on the EDZ.
For the Drifter, though, you’ll need some Taken Butter, which drops from Taken enemies. While the Shuro Chi and the Thrallway checkpoints will give you plenty of Taken Butter, you can also look for Taken enemies around the Dreaming City, including the Chamber of Starlight and Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sectors, as well as the Blind Well when the Dreaming City’s Curse is at its strongest. The EDZ’s Cavern of Souls Lost Sector in The Sludge can also be a good choice.
