A brand new message has appeared in Fortnite’s news section confirming the time and date for the long-awaited rocket launch.
The rocket inside of the villain’s lair on the western side of the map, on a mountain near Snobby Shores, first appeared at the beginning of season four in early May. Since then, speculation has ran rampant, fueled further by teases from Epic Games such as countdowns appearing on in-game televisions.
Now, this new message all but confirms that the rocket will blast off tomorrow. Apparently, the rocket will launch in-game only once, exactly at 12:30pm CT. Epic’s message tells players to “look to the sky.”
It’s anyone’s guess what will happen once the rocket launches, but it could cause some damage to the map and change it up much in the same way that the meteor added plenty of new elements to the map for the beginning of season four last month.
A rocket engine recently appeared in Anarchy Acres, leading to further speculation that the rocket might crash somewhere soon. Rumors have since spread, saying that the possible landing point for a Dusty Divot-like shakeup could be none other than Moisty Mire, the swamp in the southeast end of the map.
With the end of Fortnite’s season four of upon us, July 12, it’s likely that these mysterious changes will take effect around then. We could be looking at around two weeks of “airtime” for the rocket before it touches down and the map changes. In a big, explosive way.
