The scoreline was unprecedented, and the German side even started out with a huge deficit of 12-3 after the first half. After an incredible comeback in the second half, Mouz were just one round away from winning the match in regulation. They were couldn’t finish the deal, however, and Flipsid3 took the game into what would end up as the first of five overtimes.

Flipsid3’s Yegor “Markeloff” Markelov was the first to reach 50 total kills in the game and it looked like his team had pulled it together and would claim victory—until Mousesports again pegged them back into another overtime. Battling Markeloff every step of the way was star player Nikola “NiKo” Kovac. Despite a poor performance in the first half of regulation, NiKo stepped it up big time in overtime and pushed his team over the finish line.

The game was just one round away from hitting 60 total, which would have made it equivalent to two 16-14 games. The whole affair lasted over two and a half hours and will certainly be remembered. Unfortunately, it also means the tournament is now well behind schedule. So prep your coffee and your energy drinks. We’re in for a long night.

Correction 12:29pm March 30: The headline for an earlier version of this story didn’t clarify that this was the longest match in the history of CS:GO majors.
