While Sneasel and Weavile have been in the Pokémon franchise since Gens II and IV respectively, Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler were introduced more recently in Legends: Arceus. As two standouts from the Hisui region, they’ve also already made their debuts in Pokémon Go during the Hisuian Discoveries event back in July 2022.

When it comes to evolution, both Sneasel forms have a unique requirement in the mainline games. The standard form evolves into Weavile by holding the Razor Claw and leveling up at night, and the Hisuian form evolves into Sneasler by holding the same item and leveling up during the day.

In Pokémon Go, however, Hisuian Sneasel’s evolution method is a bit different from the mainline games. Here’s everything you need to know to evolve your Hisuian Sneasel into Sneasler in the mobile app.

What is the requirement to evolve Hisuian Sneasel into Sneasler in Pokémon Go?

Evolving Hisuian Sneasel in Pokémon Go isn’t as simple as using candies like other Pokémon in the game. Players will need to check off a few other requirements in addition to collecting the candies before they can evolve their Hisuian Sneasel into Sneasler.

  • Gather 100 Sneasel candies.
  • Assign Hisuian Sneasel as your buddy and walk seven kilometers or 4.34 miles.
  • After completing the first two requirements, you’ll need it to be daytime for the evolution to work.

While the regular Sneasel and Weavile are Dark/Ice-type Pokémon, the Hisuian form and Sneasler are Fighting/Poison types. These Hisuian ‘mons are favored in matchups versus Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock, and Grass-type Pokémon. But be careful: Unlike the other Sneasel and Weavile who have the advantage against Psychic Pokémon, Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler are both extra vulnerable to Psychic attacks.
