The International 2 champion Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan is returning to Dota 2 as part of mixed-nationality stack Echo International.
Echo International’s lineup was registered on the official Dota 2 team database earlier today. It includes Anathan “ana” Pham formerly of OG, Grigoris “Keyser” Kallianiotis, former Immortals offlaner Lee “Forev” Sang-don, and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, who was part of the TI6 runner-up iteration of Digital Chaos.
This is ChuaN’s first team since taking a break from competitive play, after leaving Chinese squad Vici Gaming in September last year. His stint with Vici Gaming lasted just five months, as he and the rest of the team failed to qualify for any premier tournament at the time. The only LAN they participated in was Galaxy Battles, where they served as replacements for LGD Gaming.
His teammates all come from different backgrounds, with most of them having just left their previous squads. Out of all the other members, ana is the most famous and most decorated as a two-time Valve Major champion. This also mark’s ana’s return to active play since leaving OG voluntarily after TI7.
Of course, whether or not this team will achieve much has yet to be seen—but there is bound to be interest in seeing this group of veterans take the field together.
