The Ghillie Suit is one of the most iconic cosmetic items in all of Call of Duty. From its debut in the original Modern Warfare (2007) with the “All Ghillied Up” mission in the Campaign to its appearance in Modern Warfare 2 (2022), players everywhere would love to don their Operator in the camouflaged outfit. The Ghillie Suit itself takes on the appearance of a grassy hedge effectively and whenever the player lays down, adequate visual concealment will be present.
I certainly know that the Ghillie Suit is extremely effective for being able to conceal your location from enemy players thanks to its appearance, allowing you to blend in with the environment excellently. At the beginning of MW2, players found it nearly impossible to acquire the iconic piece of gear.
The only way to obtain the Ghillie Suit at the start of the game’s life cycle was by cashing in on a promotion, but there are a number of ways to acquire it now. Here is our guide on how to get the Ghillie Suit in Modern Warfare 2 and DMZ.
Getting the Ghillie Suit in Modern Warfare 2
In order to acquire the Ghillie Suit in CoD multiplayer, players need to purchase the “Overgrown” CoD Store bundle. This bundle was released with the introduction of season one in November 2022 for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. It features an Operator wearing the Ghillie Suit, with the skin’s official name called Clearwater.
There are five other items that come with the Overgrown bundle, which is priced at 2,000 CoD Points. I personally would only recommend getting the bundle if you want the Ghille Suit as the other items aren’t really worth your while compared to certain other bundles. Among the contents are two weapon blueprints, both featuring a grassy camo, an emblem, sticker, and a weapon charm.
Along with the Overgrown bundle, you can also buy the Overgrown Two bundle in MW2. Like the first bundle, Overgrown Two comes with an Operator skin that resembles the Ghillie Suit. This time, the Operator skin is called “Ghillie Monster” and it’s for the Konig operator.
How to find CoD Bundles not listed in the store
If you are trying to search the store for any Ghillie Suit bundle such as both Overgrown versions then you may find they aren’t currently showing. You don’t have to worry though as you will be able to find them via the specific characters the bundles relate to. If you would like to get the Clearwater Operator Skin, then go to the character Chuy and select them. When you do there will be a list of skins on show, you can then find the “Clearwater” skin and buy the Overgrown bundle.
For the Overgrown 2 bundle, simply go to Konig in the Operator menu and repeat the process as shown above except this time for the “Ghillie Monster” skin.
Other bundles with a Ghille Suit: MW2 Raid bundles
In addition to the Overgrown bundle, players can purchase the season one and season two Raid bundles in MW2. Both Raid bundles were released with the season one and Season two updates and feature Gaz and Captain Price wearing the iconic Ghillie Suit. The season one Raid Bundle features Gaz wearing a skin called “Grass Ops,” while Price has a separate skin coincidentally titled “All Ghillied Up,” a throwback to the original mission that made the suit so synonymous with CoD.
However, if players want to earn either of these Operator skins, they will need to complete the accompanying Raid Episode. If you want the Ghillie Suit from the season one Raid bundle, you need to complete the first Raid Episode, and the same goes for the second Raid Episode and its bundle. You can access these Raid Episodes from the game mode selection in MW2.
Once you have completed the first or second Raid Episode, you can purchase the season one or season two Raid bundle and acquire the Ghillie Suit skin. For example, if you complete the first Raid Episode and buy the season one Raid Bundle, then you will gain access to Gaz’s Grass Ops skin. If you only purchase the bundle, you’ll just get access to the other items available.
I recommend just working your way through all of the raids first. Both bundles go for 2,000 CoD Points and come with an additional skin for Gaz or Price, two weapon blueprints, and a handful of other cosmetics.
Players could have also taken part in the Jack Links promotion prior to MW2’s release to get another version of the Ghillie Suit, called “Sasquatch,” but that promotion has since ended. Perhaps Infinity Ward will release future bundles that also feature a version of the classic camouflage suit.
Is it still possible to get the Sasquatch Reyes Operator skin in MW2?
No, there isn’t any other way for players to get the skin released alongside the promotion. If you were hoping for an alternative bundle that may have included it then you won’t find one at least for the time being. There wasn’t too much difference between the Sasquatch skin and other Ghillie Suits in the game but I think it definitely was still a great one to add to your collection if you had the chance.
How to get the Ghillie Suit in DMZ
Unfortunately for any DMZ fans, there are no specific ways to earn a Ghillie Suit just by playing DMZ. In order to don a Ghillie Suit in the extraction-based mode, you will need to buy one from the store or complete Raid Episodes and then buy the associated bundles.
If you’re strictly a DMZ player, then purchasing a bundle with a Ghillie Suit in my opinion is a solid investment. The Ghillie Suits, especially on Al Mazrah, are terrific for ambushing enemy teams at extraction points or near high-traffic areas. You can easily hide in bushes or other shrubbery and not be spotted by enemies.
Now that you know everything about how to acquire a Ghillie Suit, you can hop back into the action once you’ve got one and make your concealed mark on the battlefield in DMZ and Modern Warfare 2.
