Players seeking to improve their board state in TFT Set 8.5 will want to use what the Gadgeteen trait has to offer. It’s a solid early-game trait that activates with three Gadgeteen units on the board, according to game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer. The Gadgeteen champions in TFT Set 8.5 are Lulu, Poppy, Annie, Gnar, and Nunu.

Using the Gadgeteen TFT Set 8.5 trait

The Gadgeteen trait was designed to create up to two weapons at the start of each player combat round. Upon activating the trait, up to two temporary items are created that last for one round of combat. Breakpoints for the trait are at three and five. All items created are destroyed after the combat round has been completed. And Gadgeteen champions in Set Eight/8.5 gain a percent of bonus damage and damage reduction for each item equipped to them at the two breakpoints.

  • Three: Create one weapon every round and gain three percent bonus damage and damage reduction per item.
  • Five: Create two weapons every round and gain 10 percent bonus damage and damage reduction per item.

Each of the Gadgeteen items functions similarly to Set 8.5 items, with small differences in the ability of the item that make it unique.

All TFT Set 8.5 Gadgeteen items

The weapons created are Gadgeteen-empowered TFT Set Eight/8.5 items. The items that are created are random and will cease to exist after one round of combat. Items placed on the bench will also disappear after one round. There is a pool of nine Gadgeteen items that can get created.

Chainsword Bloodthirster

The Chainsword Bloodthirster grants 20 percent Omnivamp. And once per combat, the item holder gains a 25 percent maximum health shield that lasts up to eight seconds when at 40 percent health. While the shield is active, the champion equipped with the Gadgeteen weapon gains 40 percent attack damage.

Gadget-Slayer

Gadget-Slayer grants 20 percent attack damage and 20 bonus ability power to the equipped unit. If an enemy target has more than one maximum health, Gadget-Slayer deals 25 percent more damage with abilities and attacks from the item holder.

Hand of Nondeterministic Justice

Despite having a long name, Hand of Nondeterministic Justice is similar to Hand of Justice. It grants three effects: 25 percent attack damage and 25 ability power, in addition to 15 percent Omnivamp.

Induction-Powered Warmog’s Armor

The Induction-Powered Warmog’s Armor grants the item holder 600 bonus health. Induction-Powered Warmog’s Armor also regenerates 0.5 percent of maximum health per second for the item holder.

Jump-Started Spear of Shojin

Synergizing with AP TFT Set 8.5 champions, Jump-Started Spear of Shojin grants 30 bonus starting mana and 20 bonus ability power. The unit equipped with the Gadgeteen item restores 10 mana with every third attack.

Magnetized Ionic Spark

Units that are equipped with the Magnetized Ionic Spark will hit enemies within a range of two Hexes. The enemy target will have its magic resistance reduced by 50 percent. Upon casting a spell ability, the enemy target is hit for magic damage that is equal to 185 percent of their maximum mana. And the item holder taunts all enemies in range to attack the holder every four seconds.

Overclocked Sunfire Cape

The Overclocked Sunfire Cape grants 150 bonus health to the equipped item holder. During combat, every second, an enemy within three Hexes of the Gadgeteen item holder is burned for 10 percent of their maximum health as true damage over the course of 10 seconds. The enemy targets also suffer 30 percent reduced healing for the duration of the burn.

Shroud of Even Still-erness

The Gadgeteen name is odd but the effect is essentially the same with Shroud of Even Still-earness. At the start of combat, the item holder shoots a beam that increases the maximum mana of all enemies that were inside the beam by 35 percent until they cast. All affected enemies also have their attack and movement speed reduced by 20 percent for 1.5 seconds. This item is unique, preventing multiple copies from being equipped on a champion.

Titan’s Resolve

The Gadgeteen item grants two percent attack damage, ability power, and attack speed when attacking or taking damage. It can stack up to 30 times and, at full stacks, grants 30 armor and magic resistance.
